Our latest Update can be read here: Rights in Russia Update.
We invite you to take part in our project facilitating the writing of letters to prisoners of conscience / political prisoners in Russia. This week we highlight the case of Fail Alsynov, an environmental activist from Bashkortostan imprisoned for exercising his right to free speech.
Our translations this week include:
- an interview with Tatyana Kasatkina, human rights defender and wife of imprisoned human rights defender Oleg Orlov [Meduza];
- an interview with Olga Sadovskaya, an anti-torture activist and human rights defender (see also our recent Russian-language podcast with her) [Cherta];
- a piece by Leonid Nikitinsky on the move to facilitate sending persons held on remand to the war against Ukraine [Novaya gazeta].
We also publish a book review:
- Vic Peterson reviews a translation by Anna Krushelnitskaya of a collection of poems of Ilya Ehrenburg, Babi Yar and Other Poems.
If you would like to review a book for our website, please write to: ronan at rightsinrussia dot org
With best wishes,
